Andy Burton was born, bred and
lives in South Croydon. He's supported Palace for over 30 years, his first game
being a Junior match back in 1966 and has regularly attended home matches since
There are so many specific personal highs (and lows!) that
stand out over his time watching Palace. However two that must be mentioned
here are the Burnley game in 1979 plus the Cup Final (He missed the Villa Park
semi-final due to my wife having just given birth to twins [Poor excuse, Andy -
Ed]). He was a lottery agent for 6 years and has been a Season ticket holder in
the Holmesdale stand lower tier since it opened.
He also has a collection of over 700 Palace programmes dating
back to 1958 from which a lot of the research for the kit gallery was drawn. He
is a firm believer in supporting a local team and cannot bear to see youngsters
wearing Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea shirts when they live local to Palace.
Andy is a founder member of the Eagles Fitter Fans Scheme
launched in 2011.
